If you have no life, blog.

If you have no life and sit around watching Oprah and Doctor Phil all day, I suggest you take up blogging.

There is tons of information about how-to blog online. People without lives can search sites like Google and other search engines to find a wide variety of topics pertaining to blogging.

Youtube has some videos about blogging. Use the advanced search to find exact keyword matching otherwise you will find all sorts of videos that have nothing to do with your topic about blogging.

Another place you might find some information about blogging and get feedback from real live people is at what used to be called USENET groups. Today you can find “Groups” at the top of Google’s search page if you click on the more link. Enter a topic and see what people are saying online about that topic. You can join groups and ask questions and find help regarding blogging or almost any topic under the sun.

Blogging can have positive effects for commercial and non commercial people, places and things online and off. Some blogs are indexed by search engines faster then other blogs. So blogging is a good way to be found online.

But, for commercial operations it is very difficult and in some cases almost impossible to keep up with running a business and chit chatting online. Not only does it take time and energy to blog you need techno skills and above all else the gift of gabbing with your fingers. Remember English classes in high school. Guess what. If you did not do well in those classes you will be screwed online in business and other efforts unless you find someone with no life to type all day online in blogs for and about what you offer the world in regards to products and services.

Most places will never say the reality is that it takes HOURS of effort to market yourself online. Once upon a time I saw a video at Youtube by Chris Pirillo the lockergnome I can not find the video anymore. It is the only place I have see n so far that is honest when people in the video said it would take 10-12 hours a day to blog successfully.

Social Bookmarking can be dangerous

October 28, 2008 by rangertom

Social Bookmarks can not be removed from the web.

Once you make what is called a “social bookmark” from a blog or other article online, the social bookmark can not be changed or deleted. You have ZERO control over the content of your social bookmarking contents at Digg and other “social” sites.

Here is what Digg.com FAQ says about removing a story submitted to Digg.com.

How can I delete a story I submitted?
Once a story has been submitted to Digg, it is dedicated to the public domain under the Creative Commons Public Domain Dedication, available at http://creativecommons.org/licenses/publicdomain/ according to our Terms of Use. We do reserve the right to remove content that is determined to be in violation of our Terms of Use at any time and at our discretion.

Propeller users also have no way to delete bookmarks.

Not being able to remove a bookmark to an article leaves deleting the article from a blog or elsewhere?

The problem I have with this old fashioned database technology of not being able to remove a bookmark is, the keyword at Google are indexed and your title and article stuck until way beyond when any cows come home?

They call it “social” bookmarking. I don’t think it is very social to not allow bookmarks to be removed. In fact is very dangerous.
